A clearer way to protect the stay
Manage a security hold from request to release or capture, with the amount, expiry and decision visible on the reservation.
Security deposits, with Sixto
Make the security requirement visible
The reservation’s deposit panel brings amount, timing and current state together before the request is made.
- Saved-card flow for eligible stays
- Deposit link for other supported stays
Know what is held, and until when
Track the hold status and expiry after the guest completes the request. A visible timeline helps the team act on the current state.
- Active, waiting and final states
- Provider result alongside the hold
Release with confidence, capture with intent
Use the appropriate action when the stay ends: release the hold, or capture an authorized amount with the required justification.
- Separate permissions for sensitive actions
- Final state retained on the stay
What Sixto does, and what stays with you
The team follows Alex’s hold during the stay, makes a release decision after departure and keeps the final result with the reservation.
Also included
Before you start
A deposit is waiting, failed or expired.
Read the provider result and hold timeline. Resolve an unknown result before requesting a new hold. Check whether release is waiting on a recorded team decision.
What should I verify?
Reopen the panel to verify the final released, captured or active state.
What does not happen automatically?
A security hold is not a booking deposit or a completed payment. The card provider controls hold expiry.

How it works, step by step
Security deposits
Use a card hold for a stay and distinguish releasing it from collecting money.
- Open the reservation’s deposit panel. Review the amount, timing, existing deposit and current status before requesting another.
- Use Request deposit. Eligible saved-card stays can use the saved card; other supported stays receive the deposit-link workflow.
- Use Release when the hold should end. Capture only the authorized amount for a justified charge. If keeping the hold, review the reason and expiry rather than assuming it can last indefinitely.
The deposit panel shows the recorded hold state and expiry, or the final release or capture result.
A security hold is not a booking deposit or a completed payment. The card provider controls hold expiry.
One tool instead of five
Hosts switch to Sixto from a PMS, a compliance tool like Hospy, separate accounting software and a lock app. Everything shares the same guests, bookings and books.
