Does this apply to me?
The TRA is the tourism accommodation record, including the principal guest and companions, both Colombian and foreign. An active RNT and access to the email registered there are implementation prerequisites. [1]
Resolution 700 excludes hourly-stay establishments identified under CIIU 5530 or its equivalent. Resolution 409 updated the required information and personal-data provisions. Check your category instead of treating a normal tourist apartment as an hourly-stay exception. [2] [3]
Before you start
- An active RNT for the correct establishment and access to its registered email. [1]
- A confirmed route: PMS integration, connected web form or the official offline method. [1]
- Guest and companion identification, residence, origin, travel purpose and stay dates, using the current form. [3]
- A clear personal-data explanation and restricted access to guest information. [3]
Step by step
- 01
Confirm the establishment in RNT
Check the status, contact email and accommodation details. If the TRA setup cannot identify the establishment, resolve the registration or synchronization issue before improvising another RNT.
- 02
- 03
Set up and check access
Start from MinCIT's TRA information site or its official application. For a PMS route, agree who transmits, what authorization is needed and how you will see the authority's result. Never assume enabling an integration completes this.
- 04
Collect a complete arrival record
As a working routine, ask for information before or at arrival, then verify the people actually staying. Review companions separately and explain why the information is needed. A reservation profile can be incomplete.
- 05
Keep the stay facts current
Resolve changes to companions or dates and complete actual departure information. Follow the current MinCIT instructions for when and how your route records or transmits the card. [2]
- 06
Review what the authority received
Check rejected or missing records and keep a reference to the accepted outcome. If changing providers, agree a cutover date and reconcile open stays so records are neither lost nor sent twice.
Dates and reporting rhythm
Article 8 of Resolution 700 sets online registration according to MinCIT instructions and a distinct rule for the offline method. Data collection at arrival below is a practical routine, not a claim that every route has the same submission deadline. [2]
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Connected form or PMS route | Register online under MinCIT's current instructions for your route. Verify its current trigger and required stay fields during setup. |
| Official offline method | Maintain the local record daily and report the consolidated month on the first business day of the following month, following article 8 and the official instructions. |
| Changed stay or rejected record | Make review part of your daily work. Check the correction process and result rather than treating a prepared record as a successful report. |
Common mistakes to avoid
Collecting only foreign guests
TRA includes Colombian guests and companions, unlike the foreign-guest scope of SIRE.
Using a PMS connection as proof of delivery
Check the actual record outcome and identify who follows up failures.
Using offline reporting as a convenient delay
The offline route has defined eligibility and instructions. Confirm the correct group.
Your working checklist
Use this as a quick review while you read. Checkmarks stay on this page only; they are not a filing record.
Questions hosts ask
What is the difference between TRA and SIAT?
TRA is the accommodation registration card. SIAT was the name of the software used to complete it. Use the current MinCIT TRA information and application links rather than relying on an old bookmark. [1]
Do I need a PMS to register guests?
No. MinCIT provides a direct connected web-form route as well as the PMS and offline routes. Choose the method that matches your establishment's circumstances. [1]
What if my provider says the TRA is in test mode?
Confirm who is making the real report during testing and how delivery is checked. A test record or locally stored card is not evidence of a live submission.
